INDUSTRY: Mary Katrantzou is currently preparing for significant brand expansion, including the launch of her debut e-commerce site in the coming weeks. The designer, renowned for her digital prints and sculptured silhouettes, recently collaborated with Current/ Elliott  on a capsule collection – a move which she says opened her eyes to different possibilities. She now plans to launch a leather-goods line and an interiors range.

MUSIC: Taylor Swift: She was the red hot winner at the Billboard Music Awards. Swift won eight of 11 awards, including top artist and top Billboard 200 album for “Red”. Justin Bieber was also a multiple winner with three awards, including top male artist, social artist and the fan-voted milestone award.

IMAGERY: The Llewyn Davis screening drew a glittering array of A-listers and top executives, a red carpet graced by the gorgeous images of Carey Mulligan and Justin Timberlake laughing, and Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman being the sweetest with each other.

DEADLOCKS: Rihanna has been negotiating with Topshop over a shirt that uses her image, but Topshop claims to have purchased the photo of Rihanna from the photographer. Now Rihanna’s lawsuit demands $5 million over the shirt.

CINEMA: Cartier  has recreated some of their most beautiful pieces worn by Grace Kelly especially for the Australian actress to wear in a new movie, Grace of Monaco. Cartier’s rue de la Paix store also provides the backdrop for the scene when Grace announces her retirement from Hollywood to devote herself to royal duties. The work is directed by Olivier Dahan and will open in 2014.

CAMPAINGS: Singer Rita Ora has signed a £500,000 deal to be the face of Madonna and her daughter Lourdes’ brand, Material Girl, from the American chain Macy’s. Before her, Georgia Jagger, Kelly Osbourne and Taylor Momsen starred the label’s campaign, since its launch in 2010..
